What this is

These forums are where the Titan server keeps everything that does not fit in chat: announcements and changelogs, build threads, guild recruitment, trades, and the support and appeal queues. Chat is for right now. This is for anything you want somebody to be able to find next month.

Reading needs no account. Posting needs one, and a confirmed email address — that is how you get back in when you lose your password, and it is the only thing standing between the forum and a hundred throwaway accounts.

Getting started

Four things, in the order they are worth doing:

1. Confirm your email. Nothing else works properly until you do.
2. Read the rules. They are short, and they are what every moderation decision is measured against — including the ones you might want to appeal.
3. Post once. Anywhere. An introduction, a question, a screenshot of something you built. Nobody has ever read a first post and thought less of it.
4. Link your Minecraft account on your account page. Your skin becomes your avatar, and staff can match your forum name to the person on the server.

Trust levels

A few things are held back from brand-new accounts — posting links, editing a post long after you wrote it, and how many reports you can file at once. They come back as you use the forum normally. There is nothing to apply for and nothing to claim: the level is worked out from what you have already done, every time it is asked.

New

Everybody starts here. You can post, reply, react and report from your first minute — links wait until the forum has seen a little of your writing.

Basic

You have written enough for the forum to know you are a person. Links are enabled.

Member

You have been around, read a fair amount and had posts that landed. You can edit your own older posts, and you file reports at the full rate.

Regular

A familiar name. Nothing here is a moderation power — it is the last rung at which a restriction lifts.

Levels can move down as well as up. If posts of yours are removed, they stop counting — which is the whole point, because otherwise deleting spam would leave the spammer holding whatever the spam bought. Staff can also set someone’s level by hand, in either direction; that is recorded with a reason, and if it happens to you the panel below says so.

How moderation works

Reports go to a queue, not to an individual. Any member can report a post, a thread or an account from the report control on it; a moderator claims the report, and what they decide is written to a log that senior staff can read back. You are not told who handled it, and the person you reported is not told who reported them.

Warnings carry points that expire on their own. You can see every warning on your account, and appeal any of them — including expired ones — from your warnings page. One appeal is open at a time, and an appeal is read by somebody other than the person who issued the warning.

Some things are handled before a human sees them at all: a word filter, a link restriction on new accounts, and an approval queue in the forums that use one. If a post of yours is held for approval it has not been rejected — it is waiting, and it will appear as written once somebody looks at it.

Where to ask

Stuck on something in game or on the site? Post in Help & Questions. Threads there can be marked with the answer, so the next person with your problem finds it.

Banned, or warned, and want it reviewed? Use your warnings page — that is the route that reaches the people who can act on it. A thread about it in public will not go faster.

Something needs a moderator right now? Report it. That is what the queue is for, and it is faster than finding somebody online.
